[comp.windows.ms] What Happen to Microsoft's Updates ?

lima@nixsin.UUCP (Arthur Lim) (10/02/89)

About five months ago, I obtained the MS OS/2 SDK from Microsoft. What I
received was the SDK version 1.06.

Since the news of MS releasing their SDK version 1.1, I telefaxed to MS
requesting for the updates (or the information of it) ** T W I C E **
but receiving no replies at all. >:-(

Can someone be so kind as to enlighten me what is happening in MS with
regards to updates ?

Thanks in advance for any comments and enlightenment.

The last three OS/2 SDK releases were:

    <earlier SDK releases, 1.00, 1.01, 1.02, 1.03(?), 1.04(?)...>
    SDK 1.05, a pre-release version of Microsoft OS/2 1.10.
    SDK 1.06, a copy of IBM's retail OS/2 1.10 SE.
    SDK 1.10, a final version of Microsoft OS/2 1.10.

SDK 1.10 came with a 3-ring notebook of OS/2 1.10 user documentation, and
the 3 volume MS OS/2 1.10 Programmer's Reference set. Right now, SDK 1.10
is no longer for sale, as OEM versions of OS/2 1.10 are available. So if
you hadn't yet bought the SDK, you would not be able to. (Most of the
content of the SDK is available in the OS/2 1.10 Programmer's Toolkit, but
you need to get OS/2 1.10 from your OEM and have C/MASM.)

As far as I knew, all SDK owners had been updated to SDK 1.10, the final
SDK release. I don't know anything about international distribution (in
this case Singapore) of the SDK, I know that there are restrictions about
int'l sales which usually require that the Redmond Washington branch
doesn't distribute software internationally, but instead fends this out to
the regional subsidiary. First, you should contact the location where you
purchased the SDK. Then, you might try calling the Microsoft international
customer service number, +1(206)882-8661. Hope this helps.
