[comp.windows.ms] win.ini

gros1530@fredonia.UUCP (Dan Gross) (10/12/89)

Some colleagues and I are writing a book on PageMaker, and we're looking
for some windows-specific info. When running an application from windows,
adding or deleting lines in win.ini changes the performance of some of
them in positive and negative ways. Lines relating to buffers, ram disks,
expanded memory, etc. You know these.

What we're looking for is the best possible performance we can get from
windows running PageMaker, graphics programs, and word-processor pif
applications. Any tricks you know of? Special lines (undocumented)
that help utilize special hardware?

Any and all replies are appreciated.
