Has anyone tried to use expanded memory in a Windows/286 application? I don't have enough conventional memory for my data when using CodeView, so I thought I would put some of it in expanded memory, but since Windows uses expanded memory also, I seem to be conflicting with Windows. Is there a way to use expanded memory for my application without conflicting with Windows? If anyone has any info on this, please send e-mail to me at: !apple!answer!ann or answer!ann@apple.com. If there is interest, I'll summarize to the net. Thanks! Ann Friauf !apple!answer!ann or answer!ann@apple.com

Yes you can use EMS memory. The trick is to use the -l option when you rc your final executable. As in rc -l myprog.res or something to that effect. You are restricted to EMS3.2 functions. This option is documented in the update to the SDK 2.11 (not the readme file - the booklet that came as part of the docs) Hope this helps Milan mms00786@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu .
