[comp.windows.ms] Adaptec Floppy problems

dny@kolvi.hut.fi (Dag Nygren) (11/01/89)

Resume: 1. MS says that SCSI disks are not supported.

	 2. Adaptec has an option in their driver software (/v368)
that they say is meant for apps in 386 virtual mode
and they give Windows 386 as an example.

	 3. We rely on Adaptec, go out and by ourselves an AHA-1542
and try it out; Voila, it works like a charm until....

	 4. We try to use the floppy that worked so well under DOS
some minutes ago and get persistant read errors.

	 5. Faxes to Adaptec in Europe and USA hasn't given any
response at all (Support in Europe ??)

Questions:
	 1. Is there something (and Adaptec) have missed concerning
	    the SCSI drives ??

	 2. Anyone ran into the floppy problem and found a fix ??

I would appreciate any info on the subject (Adaptec ??)
