I've been reading through my SDK documentation, but to no avail. So could some Windows Wizard out there advise me on font selection, specifically as it applies to commercial Windows apps, such as Excel, Corel Draw, Write etc. What I wish to accomplish is to have screen versions of my printer (soft) fonts. From the SDK manual, a (screen) font is selected based on a number of different attributes, among others, the font name. So when Excel is looking for a screen font called AvantGarde, it'll take the closest match, which is normally Helv. If I were to create a screen font AvantGarde, which would have the correct characteristics, am I correct in assuming that Windows would automatically pick up that font? And if so, how do I create .fon files that are visible to all Windows applications? The Font Editor only allows creation of .fnt files, which, from the SDK documentation, are intended only for use by individual applications. Maybe I'm way out in left field .... could somebody point me in the right direction?
