[comp.windows.ms] CTRL-C Handling in MS-WINDOWS

balaji@nsc.nsc.com (Balaji Pitchaikani) (11/23/89)

Hi,
Has anyone tried providing ^C type interrupt handling under windows.
One of the application which I am writing requires some method to
abrubtly stop windows program environment.
When I checked up with Microsoft about this, they said that
since windows uses non-preemptive multi-tasking interrupts like ^C
cannot be handled directly. They say that the Dynamic Link Libraries (DLL)
need to be written for doing this ^C handling. Anyone has idea about this?
When DOS provides ^C's break interrupt handling thro' INT 23H why not
windows support the same ^C concept.
Has anyone overcome this problem and provided a solution for it.
Please email to me at balaji@nsc.nsc.com. If there is enough interest I will
summarise to the net.

Thanks in advance.
