I have recently had a problem with MS Windows & NFS (Network File System). We bought three X-Golden 25MHz 386's with a *BUNCH* of RAM and other neeto widgets. Since we have an extensive TCP/IP network with NFS (50+ Suns, Solbourns, Vaxen, Macs, PCS, etc), we wanted to run PCNFS from Sun. We had previously been successful doing this with Compaq Deskpro 386/16s and ZDS 386's. We were also successfull with the X-Golden pcs, UNTIL WE STARTED WINDOWS. TO make a long story short, after much muck-a-muck, Sun admitted that it was their fault. They said that they couldn't get PCNFS to work with Windows on their Compaq Deskpro 386/20e's. We could get it to work with our 386/16's, but a 25MHz 'Korean special' was cheaper than the memory upgrade for a Compaq (Some silly propriotary memory board). So, we went with PCTCP Plus from FTP Software (somewhere in Mass). Anyway, if any of you run into this problem, you wont' have to waste as much time as I have.
