Is there a replacement printer spooler around that is faster than the horrible excuse that comes with Windows? We're more than a little tired of waiting for printer output (we're printing to a network device, and getting only about 10% of the throughput that we should be getting -- direct output to a LPx device is just as slow!) What really gets me is that outputting to a >file< is extremely fast. Why isn't it just as fast going to the hardware device (the hardware CAN accept the characters at that speed). Any pointers appreciated. We can ftp and uucp if needed. -- Karl Denninger (karl@ddsw1.MCS.COM, <well-connected>!ddsw1!karl) Public Access Data Line: [+1 708 566-8911], Voice: [+1 708 566-8910] Macro Computer Solutions, Inc.
