About a year ago I went to a Chevy delear in the Silicon Valley area. When we couldn't agree on the price of the vehicle I was interested in, I cited the 'Blue Book' (maintained by our credit union) dealer cost vs list prices. The sales manager said the the prices in that book were a 'figment of someones imagination'. To make a long story short,I ended up at a Nissan/Datsun dealer. He showed me the invoice price of the vehicle I was interested in. Lo and behold the invoice was within 2% of the blue book figures. In my opinion the 'Blue Books' at my credit union were accurate enough to go dealin' intelligently. I think the dealers prices were a figment of his imagination. The books are updated every few months so they attempt to track manufacturers price increases. Good dealin', Robert Paull (ka6sfv)
