Several posters in the Modula 2 newsgroup have been asking about using Modula-2 for Windows programming. I missed the beginning of the thread so if I repeat anything or do not answer the original question then I am sorry. Currently there is only one compiler that supports Windows Programming. That compiler is the Stony Brook Professional Modula-2 Compiler. This package cost about ~$300 and includes compilers for both OS/2 *AND* DOS. The Stony Brook (SB) compiler will work with normal DOS (i.e. Microsoft) object file and can in fact use the Miscrosoft Linker. For Windows programming it is compatible with Symdeb and the Windows version of Codeview. In the upcoming _Computer Language_ Windows Issue, an article I wrote about Modula-2 programming for Windows will appear. (I hope that the article still makes sense and is not too hacked up.) In the article I present a small set of modules which hide much of the messiness of the large case statement found in many programs. If you have any specific questions about the SB compiler, I will try to help. -----Dale Rogerson-----
