[comp.windows.ms] Excel .XLS format

osbornk@mist.cs.orst.edu (Kasey S. Osborn) (02/05/90)

I'm in search of specs on how to read their files when saved as
Normal (not SYLK, etc.). Thanks for any help you can offer.

Excel's XLS or BIFF (Binary File Format) is available as an application note
from Microsoft Product Support, free of charge, and it tells you everything
you want to know about the file format.

You can reach them at (206) 454-2030 and select the Excel option.
