[comp.windows.ms] symdeb on remote terminal

sshirk@emdeng.Dayton.NCR.COM (Stephanie.Shirk) (03/02/90)

Has anyone used symdeb with a remote terminal? I have the terminal
connected to my serail port and I'm able to access it (ctty works as
well as redirecting output). However, I cannot get symdeb to work on it
the way described in the Windows manual. It just shows up on my PC. Also,
the "x" and "xo" commands give errors and "g" just sits there.

The command I'm typing is "symdeb=com1 [symbol files] win.com [exe file]
I'm using DOS 3.3.

I also tried symdeb =com1 and symdeb =com1:. The latter gives "file not
found" and the others don't say anything wrong. However, it doesn't get to
my second terminal!

I tried symdeb > com1 and got some interesting results! :)

Thanks for any help.

Never mind -- I just realized that = is a symbug command and not whatever
I thought it was before. Sometimes the fastest way to solve a problem is
to send a help message!!!

Thanks anyway -- ss
