[net.auto] moving and truck rentals

I have a friend who is moving from Pittsburgh, PA to Amherst, MA and will
need to rent a truck to move her furniture, books, etc.  Have any net.auto or
net.travel readers had any experiences with truck rental companies, such as
U-Haul or Ryder?  If so, could you please send me a message relating your
experience.

Here are some suggestions for what might be of interest:

-- the name of the company you rented from
-- how well (or poorly they treated you)
-- what size truck did you rent
-- the condition of the truck you rented
-- in what city did you rent the truck and where did you drop it off
-- how well you "haul" went (i.e., was it smooth going or did you have 
   lots of mechanical problems
-- what type of insurance you bought and how much it cost
-- how much the whole ordeal of renting the truck cost
-- would you do the same thing again
-- any suggestions for minimizing the possible problems that could arise on
   the road

Please include anything else that you might think could possibly be of
interest.
