[comp.windows.ms] windows 3.0 and com3-com4 modem ports

Hello,

   Could whoever posted the question regarding the error returned by
WINDOWS 3.0 whenever you try to access the internal modem on COM3 (or COM4),
Please post a summary of the answers. I'm having the same problem, And 
Microsoft says very little that is of use, except that "You can't use COM4 if
COM3 is not defined."

Hi does anyone know if the Windows drivers use the DOS device drivers
for access to the hardware. Thanks in Advance.
