[comp.windows.ms] Ventura for Windows & big displays

todd@uhccux.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu (Todd Ogasawara) (06/03/90)

I was all ready to order Ventura Publisher 2.0 (w/GEM) and a Cornerstone
19" 16-level gray dual page display when I heard late yesterday afternoon
from our regional Xerox Ventura rep that the Windows 3.0 version of
Ventura publisher is going to be released in July.

Now, I have two questions...

1. Would a kind beta-tester of Windows Ventura tell me/us if it has any
functional differences when compared to the GEM version of Ventura? Does
it lose any features? Does it gain any features? Also, does it run much
   slower in Windows than GEM?
2. Are there any large screen (19"), high resolution (1024x800) displays
supported by Windows 3.0 or that come with drivers for Windows 3.0? I
really want to work with a dual-page display (no greeking allowed :-).

Thanks..todd

I called Cornerstone Technology today and found that their 16-level gray
1024x800 19" monitor has a Windows 3.0 driver in "advanced beta testing"
right now (available on their BBS)...
