I am working on a paper usinf Word for Windows and have found a feature which does not appear to function properly. I use Word 4.0/Mac as a format reference for my judgement. The automatic table of contents builder is great. Works just like the Mac - except one problem, when building a TOC, it is inserted as page 1 instead of an un-numbered page segmented from page 1 by a "double line." The break looks just like a section page break on the Mac. The Mac does not count the TOC page when paginating, WfW does. OK, so a quick fix would be setting the pagination to start at 0 - a valid choice under HEADER/Options. Only problem is that the set won't take! It accepts the value 0, then returns the setting to AUTO afterward. My questions: Do I need to setup a special stylesheet to handle the non-std pagination? Is the auto TOC functioning correctly or is it a bug? Has anybody found a way to write a macro which will insert highlighted text into the TC field instead of just default values? I added TC to my menu which inserts the TC field with an open quote and a space for level. I'd appreciate some input on this. Thanks in advance. - Marc -- LEVINSON,MARC LOUIS Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 uucp: ...!{allegra,amd,hplabs,seismo,ut-ngp}!gatech!prism!gt0159a ARPA: gt0159a@prism.gatech.edu or marc@isye.gatech.edu
