[comp.windows.ms] Inboard 386/PC compatibility

mcmillan@kingkong.cis.ohio-state.edu (Hal McMillan) (06/07/90)

Does anyone know:

  - If the standard 3.0 software runs on the Inboard 386/PC? There
was a special version of Win/386 for the Inboard.

  - What modes and with what memory requirements will it run on the
     Inboard 386/PC?

The line I heard from Intel is that Win3.0 will only work in
real mode on the Inboard386/PC. However, I have it running
in standard mode and so do several others. CHeck their BBS
for more info. (The number is in the back of the manual).

p.s. I don't have much hope of getting the Inboard386/PC to work
in 386 mode, and Intel has no plans on a special version.

People at my institution have successfully run Windows 3.0 on a PC
with an Intel Inboard 386.

I believe that it runs in 386 Enhanced mode and the 1 meg which the
board comes with is adequate, though not ideal.
