[net.auto] corvair help

**PLEASE, I need some help ...
Is there anyone out there that has experience with '64 or older Corvairs?
My rear tires are wearing terribly, especially the left one. There appears
to be quite a bit of feathering, which I am assuming is caused by
improper toe in. The camber is also causing great wear on the inside tread
of the tires. The reason I mention this is that I've seen other Corvairs
with much less camber than I have. I do know that my rear shocks need
replacement, and there appears to be a difference in height between the
sides of the car, with the right side being a bit lower. Could one of
the coil springs have rotated out of position?

Does anyone have any ideas about this problem??

I just converted from a generator system to an alternator, (after the
generator died for the 2nd time), it wasn't much trouble, but I
learned one valuable lesson. Always remove ALL old gasket remnants,
I had to put a different adapter unit on the engine to take the alternator,
and this includes the oil filter mount, fuel pump, oil filler tube... and
then some of the original bolts were too short. So, when I started the
engine, oil leaked out quite profusely. All in all, a fun time. After
taking everything off, I removed ALL the old gasket material, and put
longer bolts in and it worked.

Any way, thanks for any help.

P.S. It's a convertible, with hi compression engine, right much fun to
drive down here in the sunny South.
