Well, I finally got the Windows 3.0 and Excel upgrades last week. I love 'em.. now if I could only get the thing to print. Under the former version of Windows/386, I would print my Excel or Word for Windows document to a file, upload the file to the VAX, and print on the computer center's DEC PrintServer40 (a PostScript machine). Using the new print driver furnished with Windows 3.0, I've either gotten error messages (an improper 'div' or some such), or odd happenings (just the first line of the document, enlarged about 10x, and printed upside down and backwards). What the devil did they do in "improving" the printer device driver?!? I really welcome the fact that Windows now will ask for a file name instead or requiring you to print to a .PRN file. But if I cannot print the resultant file, it is of little use to me. Anyone else run into this problem? Are old drivers usable in the new Windows? What kind of changes were implemented in the upgrade? Any help is MOST appreciated! Bill Faggart Dept. of Geol. Sci. Univ. of Rochester Rochester, NY
