[comp.windows.ms] Why can's I write?

jbh@trsvax.UUCP (06/14/90)

Dear Microsoft,

Why won't you let me write? I bought C5.1. I bought Assembler 5.1. I
bought OS/2 1.1. I bought the OS/2 software developers toolkit. And now I
bought Windows 3.0. I have been good to you. Why won't you be good to me?

I tried to install windows. It went well except for...
1. CHESS.BMP had a read error on the disk (could be my disk was bad).
2. During the install, if you dont insert the next disk immediatly, and
accidently leave the previous disk in, install freaks out.
3. SMARTDRV.SYS doesnt work with my Priam/DTC ESDI combo. Windows runs more
than twice as fast on my Dell without smartdrv.sys than with it.

But when I tried to contact you, I could not get through on your customer
support number. The electronic voice system was a waste of time, and
business hour long distance rates are hell on us peons.

I know, I know. You released a new product, so support lines are snowed
under. It's lonely at the top. But for goodness sake, what is wrong with
giving us an address to write to when your phone lines ARE busy? Besides, I
would much rather spend 25 cents on a letter and wait to get these problems
resolved (maybe), than to spend 20 minutes on a long distance call that
definitly DID NOT get these problems resolved (or even reported to you).

Thanks for your support :-)
