I've been following the discussion on the net about MS Windows 3.0 and I have a question: 1. With all the pros and cons about Windows, do you think that it is worth buying? Mostly what I've heard on the net are negative comments. Do you think that I should buy something else instead? -- Shaun ------------------------------------------------------------------ Shaun Wilkinso@silver.ucs.indiana.edu Computer Science Indiana University

If your main objective is to multitask DOS applications, you might be better off with DesqView/386. If you're interested in the new generation of graphical applications that is being introduced for Windows (or ported from the Mac), then Windows is where it's at. A case could be made that Windows is the better choice regardless, since it will do a reasonable job of multitasking DOS apps (in 386 'Enhanced' mode, that is), and it gets you started in the direction that the whole industry is going, namely GUI-based applications. The mail-order price is probably <$100, anyway. Don Pajerek
