The question of what mileage does to oil and it's protecting qualities has been discussed at length, but I don't remember a whole lot being said on what age does to oil. I have, in the past, stored cars in the garage and, although I didn't use them much, I made it a point to change the oil every 6 months. Most of the time the only use that the oil got in that time was a once a month running to keep the parts moving. Obviously, my question is, was changing the oil every 6 months with maybe the equivilent (sp?) of 20-200 miles on it necessary? If not, what, if any, is the recommended time period. BTW, I use castrol 10W40 year round, and, because of the age of most of these cars (64-67 vintage) would not consider using the synthetics. Thanks in advance for your insight.
