I ftp'd the ATI 600x800x16 Windows 3.0 VGA driver, followed the instructions and still could not get it to work: ->FILE: README.1ST ->DATE: May 24,1990 ->This document contains instructions on how to install ATI's ->800X600 16 color driver for MS Windows 3.0. The files required are: -> README.1ST - this file -> WIN3-54B.DRV - 800X600 /16 video driver -> VDDVGA.386 - customized virtual display device [...] ->INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -> 286 SYSTEMS -> 1) Configure your ATI video adapter for VGA color mode and -> for the correct monitor. -> It already works in 600x800x4 mode -> -> 2) Install Windows 3.0 according to the Windows instructions. -> Select VGA for the video adapter. done -> 3) Copy the file WIN3-54B.DRV into the SYSTEM sub-directory -> of your Windows directory. done -> 4) Edit the text file SYSTEM.INI in the Windows directory. -> Change the line under heading [boot]: -> from: DISPLAY.DRV=VGA.DRV -> to: DISPLAY.DRV=WIN3-54B.DRV done -> 386 or 486 SYSTEMS -> Installation of the driver for 386 systems is identical to -> 286 systems except for the following additional steps: -> 5) Copy the file VDDVGA.386 to the Windows directory. -> done (also tried the system directory) -> -> 6) While editing SYSTEM.INI, change the line under the -> heading [386Enh]: -> from: DISPLAY=*VDDVGA -> to: DISPLAY=VDDVGA.386 done Unfortunately, this didn't work. In 386 enhanced, I am poped back to DOS after the title screen. In Real mode, the system hangs with a "divide by zero" error. I noticed the above does not address the [DISPLAY] 600x800x16: XX variable. Is this the problem? Does anyone know the "XX" entry for the VGA Wonder V4 card? Thanks, Marc Ries
