The 1984 Grand Prix season is over! Here are some tidbits of information that may not be known to people south of the Hoserland. - Alain Prost wins the last race, the Portuguese Grand Prix. Niki Lauda is second. - Lauda takes the championship over Prost, 69.5 points vs. 69; this is the closest season in Grand prix, ever. - McLaren wins the constructors' championship hands down; about 140 pts vs. 70 for second-place Ferrari. - Ayrton Senna Da Silva moves to Lotus from Toleman next year. - Nigel Mansell moves to Williams from Lotus. - Jacques Laffite moves back to Ligier from Williams. - Manfred Winkelhock moves to Brabham from ATS. According to BBC, this year the four best drivers were clearly Lauda, Prost, Nelson Piquet (Brabham) and Keke Rosberg (Williams). Rosberg was called the fastest man on the Grand Prix circuit.
