What if you're ftp-ing from a TOPS system or something?
(you'll get garbage)

ALWAYS use tenex mode when transferring 8-bit binary files.
If the two computers decide that tenex is equivalent to binary because they
are compatible enough, then they will use binary.  But let them decide.

Also, on our ftp system you need to use mget, not get, for filenames with
wildcards.

I found a really nice icon editor on Compu$erve.  I don't recall the name
as I am at the office and am unable to check.
