[comp.windows.ms] Paradise Screen Driver for Win 3.0

TMR116@psuvm.psu.edu (07/19/90)

Can anyone give me a lead to where I could find an 800x600 Paradise
compatible screen driver for Windows 3.0. I am the proud owner of a OEM
card named V-16 made by God-Only-Knows and a NEC 2A. I really would like
to run Windows in higher res than 640x480. If there is anyone with a
suggestion or knows of a board I can call, would you please send me a note?

Thanks,
Trevor

As some of you might recall, I was the one that originally posted the
request for the Western Digital (manufacturers of Paradise boards and
chips) a few weeks ago. I received the information from a variety of
individuals and queries from many others. I have tried to respond to
all queries, but many of the queries did not include a valid address,
so I figured I'd just post a followup to the next query that came
along.

Anyway, the latest Windows 3.0 drivers are available on Compuserve
(new uploads of MSWIN FORUM) and the Western Digital BBS
(415-968-1834). I got them from the BBS (640x480x356, 800x600x16,
1024x768x16) last night and they work great in 386 Enhanced mode where
the generic drivers reportedly fail. The ones on cica.cica.indiana.edu
seem to be an old version. I don't have ftp capability, but I'd be
willing to mail a uuencoded/split copy to someone for placement on
cica.cica.indiana.edu or any other widely accessible ftp site.
