Now that I have all of this wonderful wallpaper - billions and billions of .BMP's, if you will, I would like to reorganize the Windows directories a bit to clean up the clutter. I've had pretty good luck so far, with directories for each application, for accessories, for PIF files, etc. stuffing the left over stuff down in the windows\system directory where it is at least out-of-sight. However, I have not found a way to do the same with the .BMP files. If I make a bitmap directory and place all of the files in it, the Control Panel can't find them when I go to switch wallpaper (the same thing happens with patterns, if CONTROL.INI isn't in your \windows directory). I've tried all sorts of pathname contortions, but there just doesn't seem to be a way to specify a path to the .BMP's. You can't even type one in the the window when you are selecting which file to use as wallpaper. Has any one else run up against this annoyance? Any one found a work-around?
