[net.auto] help needed for a 59 austin-healy

bsistc@pyuxt.UUCP (Tony Charlton) (10/30/84)

I would like to draw on the knowledge of the net about a 1959 Austin-Healy
Sprite Bugeye I have found. The car needs to be total rebuilt (it hasn't
run in six years), and has body rot in both floor pans and rocker pannels
(I have found replacement parts for these). It is missing a door, which
I have been told by the owner that it can be recovered (it was sold).
Most of the rest of the car is intact, needing the brakes and the interior
replaced. I want to restore the car as close to origial as possible,
and I would appreciate any help or pointers in this project.
What I need is :

    1) Where can I find an origial engine for this car (the engine in
          it is a 1973 1275cc MGB)?
    2) Has anyone had any exprience with this car and/or restoration
          of a (simular) car?
    3) Is it worth the time and expense for this type of car?

If there is any other intrest in car restoration, I will post news of my
progress with this one (if the car is not a total basket case).

                              Thanks for any help :-)
