I just installed Win3.0 and am not happy with my basic font selection. Windows 1.x and 2.03 (pre Win/286 era) both allowed a lot of flexibility in fonts (Helv, Tmsrmn, Courier) and sizes on the Epson 9 pin driver. Win/286 (2.11) never had good support for variety of font sizes on screen or paper with the EPSON drivers (that's why I stayed with 2.03). Along comes ver 3.0 with more support for popular and exotic printers than ever before. The support for EPSON 9 pins is PATHETIC! I don't want basic Roman with pitch variety. The ability to get 10,12,14,16,18,24 and 30 point TimesRoman and Helvetica in any doccument is why I purchased WinWord. It seem I can't do so under Win3 (with EPSON printer emulation). OK, enough griping. Here's my question: Does anybody know if Microsoft has any printer drivers for PANASONIC printers (9 and 24 pin) for Windows version 3? Word (DOS) 5.0 added support for Panasonic and it's great! Panasonic 1124 is probably the best selling 24 pin on the market, but the EPSON LQ2500 drivers don't work so well with them. How about some direct support for the advanced features packed into the Panasonics? <ditto for the 1080, 1090 and 1180/90 series 9 pins> -- LEVINSON,MARC LOUIS Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 uucp: ...!{allegra,amd,hplabs,seismo,ut-ngp}!gatech!prism!gt0159a ARPA: gt0159a@prism.gatech.edu or marc@isye.gatech.edu
