At last I have cleaned up the MS Windows anonymous FTP archive at 35.8.2.1.
I have also made a clean copy of it on 35.8.2.41 which only I can update.
This may help to reduce the frustration resulting from the frequent uploading
of corrupted files (or weird interactions between my FTP server & yours).

This file lists the Microsoft Windows-related freeware and shareware available
via anonymous FTP from
serv1.cl.msu.edu (35.8.2.41) and
clvax1.cl.msu.edu (35.8.2.1).
The archive at 35.8.2.41 is read-only. All files have been tested by
me personally--sometimes just by unpacking them but usually by also
running them. See the directories under pub/mswindows. This archive
is a busy Sun 3/150 (small machine), so please limit your access to
it during business hours, Eastern time.
The archive at 35.8.2.1 is usually more up-to-date because I allow
uploads as well as downloads here. However, recent uploads may be
corrupted or worthless--caveat FTPer. I clean up this archive only
every few months. Currently the files are all crammed into one
directory because our Wollongong software won't allow subdirectories
for the ANONYMOUS account. (This will be fixed with an upgrade in
late August 1990.) The machine is a VAX 8650 running VMS. If you must
FTP during business hours, use this machine rather than 35.8.2.41.
Not all of these programs are the most recent versions. I would appreciate
any contributions or updates to the library.
Authors' names are in brackets. I have tried to identify the programs
for which payment is required (shareware), but I may have missed a few.
Some of these programs aren't very worthwhile, but I've decided to
include just about all Windows programs I have in this collection, good or bad.
I don't go out of my way to find bitmap files, but I have included a few
