[comp.windows.ms] WinTerm Problems

a523@mindlink.UUCP (Frank Murray) (07/31/90)

I am having a slight problem with Windows Terminal (In Windows 3.0). If I
change the communications settings to COM4 (which my Procomm will use) the
Windows Terminal program tells me COM4 is assigned to a DOS application (Yet, I
have no DOS applications loaded???) The message also asks if I would like to
reassign my port (COM4) to Windows. When I answer YES, Windows informs me that
COM2 (I know that COM2 and COM4 use the same IRQ3 setting) is busy, and would I
like COM1 (NO, My Logitech mouse is on COM1). I would like to be able to use
the Windows Terminal Program, but alas, It doesn't want to work! I phoned
MicroSoft
Support (For 45 minutes, long distance!) but that didn't help, as all the
setting in my Win.ini, and System.ini files appeared to be set correctly.

HELP!

of HD, and a Paradise Pro 512K VGA video card.)
