[comp.windows.ms] Saving windows sizes

mike@vice.ICO.TEK.COM (Mike Mueller) (08/02/90)

Anybody know of a way to save the sizes of windows and tiles of various
applications from one use to the next?

The one that bugs me the most is the file manager application. It would
be nice to have it sized correctly once and saved for the next time. As
it is I have to stretch the startup tile each time to show all the directories.

Possible?

Any hints?

Thanks!

When you use command post you can use the WinPlace function to specify
the size and location of the window of any program you start. It
doesn't do anything about the size of the child windows. It also
has a program called Wininfo to give you the information about the
size and location of the window and will save a WinPlace command
with the correct information to the clipboard.

It doesn't help with the file manager ,since when I start it with the
size I want the child window with the directories runs off the end
of the parent window. I just use Command Post instead of the file
manager. I've stopped using even the program manager. Command Post
isn't as pretty, but I've found that Command Post is more useful
once you've got all the menus set up the way you like them.
