Hi there I have a question about constructing a "clean" 2.1 Windows386-session (Yes, Im still using it). My machine has 8 Mb of memory and in WIN.INI I load Turbo Pascal and MS Word. Its great to be able to switch easely between tasks and cut/paste at will. Thats not the problem, the problem is when I need to do some minor change, for instance in an Excel-file, then its quite a pain having to terminate all those applications before being able to end the Windows386-session. I searched the Windowds directory for files that contained the WIN.INI-filename and came up with two; WIN386.EXE and WIN200.BIN. Then I created a "clean" WIN.INI, renamed it to WIM.INI, made a copy of WIN386.EXE, renamed that and altered all references of WIN.INI in it to the new filename WIM.INI. That didnt work. So now my question is; has anybody a working strategy (that dosnt inclued creating two similare Windows-directorys) for starting a "clean" and a more "customized" session of Windows386 (with files must be edited and so on). Any help/hints/tips is greatly appreciated Thanx Arnold ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arnold Andersson Uppsala Computer Center Uppsala University Sweden Address: K90_ARNOLD@PELLE.TDB.UU.SE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
