[comp.windows.ms] EPSON 24pin printer driver probelm

rommel@lan.informatik.tu-muenchen.dbp.de (Kai-Uwe Rommel) (08/06/90)

I printed some text with raster fonts with both the Windows 2.11 and
Windows 3.0 WRITE on the EPSON 24pin printer driver. When comparing the
results, I had the impression, that the output from the Windows 3.0
Epson 24pin driver was much thinner than that of Windows 2.11.

When looking more closer, it appears, that the EPSON driver of Windows
3.0 omits every second dot even in 180x180dpi where the printer *can*
print every dot (as opposed to the 360x180dpi mode, where it can't).

Why did they make such a bug into a driver which already worked in an
earlier release of Windows????

I am not satisfied at all with Epson's driver support, the OS/2 PM
driver is even worse, it makes protection faults ...

My version of the Windows 3.0 Epson driver (24pin) is 2.22. Is there a
newer version?
