Has anyone discovered why when you boot Windows up in 386 mode, on some machines there is a long period while it sits in textmode before it boots up? I've always had the problem with my 386SX. Today I noticed that while it was booting up, the send and receive lights were flashing on my modem (set at COM1 with the mouse on COM2). I moved the mouse over to COM1 and the time it took to boot up was much less. Is there any way to tell Windows that the mouse is on the second serial port, so don't waste the time checking the first? -- :r .signature ".signature" No such file or directory

It takes longer to start up on my 386/25 than it did on my 286/10! -- Bill Heiser Work: heiser@tdw201.ed.ray.com {decuac,necntc,uunet}!rayssd!tdw201!heiser Home: Bill.Heiser@f240.n322.z1.fidonet.org (Fidonet 1:322/240) The Think_Tank BBS (508)655-3848 1200/2400/9600-HST Other: 75106.2332@compuserve.com Other: heiser@world.std.com (Public Access Unix)
