Okay, I just called MicroSoft and was informed that their SDK cost $500. Are there any alternatives??? gene

Buying the SDK is just like buying any other piece of software. If you look in the PC Magazine ads there are mail order stores that sell SDK for as low as $319 (or maybe lower). You don't need to go to Microsoft directly. Regards, Al Rovner Tektronix Inc.

I am a little confused over what is actually contained in the different packages. The most important question is, is the Codeview for Windows debugger included in the SDK or the C 6.0 compiler. I know that 6.0 has Codeview. Further, besides the libraries, what does the SDK include. What tools and documentation. I want to use Quick C 2.5 to begin my learning experience with Windows programming (Microsoft says it is sufficient), but I would like to know what tools I am missing from C 6.0. I am not concerned with optimizing my code as much as I am with optimizing my time programming and learning. I realize that Whitewater has some additional tools, so I don't need info on that.
