[comp.windows.ms] Terminal/WinQVT shortcomings...

indra@brahms.amd.com (Indra Singhal) (08/12/90)

I am hooked to the windows interface but the incomplete/inadequate
terminal/communication programs are forcing me to use std. DOS comm
applications in a full screen (Sorry, no 386 :-( ).

Terminal that comes with Win3 is so slow at scrolling... And at 19200 it
drops characters at random. No scripting, poor protocol repertoir, no
easy external protocol support...

WinQVT is handicapped coz it limits itself to 9600 baud. [By the way, I
did find a way to run my serial interface at 19200 for connections at
any speed... The trailblazer has a register combination that lets you do
this]. Also, what does the font file for WinQVT in SVGA mode look like?
I cant justify buying shareware without seeing it all. Anyone know if
WinQVT will ever support 19200? Anyone seen the SVGA resolution screen?
I am running at 1024x768x16 and have to squint at WinQVT.

More later...
