This sounds like a good one to run past Lee Fisher and any other Microsofters that are tuned in. We're evaluating, and will probably get, PCInterface to run between our PCs and Sparcstations. We're (initially) only going to use it for the bridge to our Unix printers. After PCI is installed and Windows 3.0 is running, the print manager errors out on LPT1 right away. PCI is running on top of Ungermann-Bass' NetOne, so there aren't any MS-Net services (but NETBIOS is, in theory, available.) Until I figure this out, I'll tell our users to spool their jobs to a file. Printing works fine from inside a DOS window, or from outside Windows. Is this a hardware test failing? How can Windows be made not to mind the redirected LPT port? -- Bob -- Bob Izenberg [ ] Tandem Computers, Inc. cs.utexas.edu!halley!bei [ ] 512 244 8837
