[comp.windows.ms] Running Telnet under PC-NFS

joshua@tc.fluke.COM (JB) (08/14/90)

I'm trying to get some help starting up a telnet session under Sun PC-NFS
and MS Windows 3.0

Every time I start-up a Dos session and start telnet, the machine locks up.
I've got a clone 386 with 4meg. Should be enough...

Any special insite?

I`ve been having the same problem since I got win 3.0. My solution (it
works with our systems) is to run windows in standard mode. I undestand that
the pc-nfs drivers do not run well in protected mode and one should`nt try
to run them under windows 3.0 in 386 enh mode. We`ll have to wait for updates
from sun...

Shouldn't be a problem.

I start mine up by:

C:>nfsrun

C:>win

Then I run telnet from within the DOS window of Windows. My PC is a
BT badged Zenith, with 12M of ram, I don't think you should have run out
of memory. Could you have run out of disk? What version of PC-NFS are you
using, I am using v3.0.1?
