First off, thanks to those that responded to my earlier query. I found some Novell files with FTP on rodan.acs.syr.edu (funny I didn't know about these, this is the site my account is on!) Anyway, my problems are with Windows 3.0 and our network - Novell ELS-I v2.0a. I would run Windows and it would tell me to "Upgrade network software" ( or something like that). With ELS-I, the workstation shell is called ANET3.COM, but there is no mention of this in files on rodan. I was able to generate IPX.COM and NET3.COM from stuff there and it seems to work OK and Windows no longer complains at bootup. I also now have the "Network" icon in the control panel. The only problem I'm still having is that print spooling does not work. Logging in and using the Novell SPOOL command before running Windows has absolutely no effect - output still goes to the local printer. When I choose "Printers" from the control panel and try to tell it that I have a Network printer, it asks for a pathname, what should this be for Novell ELS-I? When I hit the "Browse" button, I can see the file server in the box on the left, but the box on the right (that's supposed to have print queues listed) is empty. I can see the file server from Windows now, but this print thing just won't work. I also tried to add "PRN.PRN" to the WIN.INI file hoping that this would force Windows to go through the Novell SPOOL command, but I just get an error saying "Error writing to PRN device". Is it possible to use the network printer from Win3 using Novell ELS-I?? Is there a driver anywhere for ELS-I? I absolutely refuse to pay $300+ to Novell just to update the network. Since they probably wrote the NETWARE.DRV file for Windows, I bet they forced it to not work with old versions of Netware so that people would be forced to pay them more $$ what a rip-off! Please help! ---jb
