One of the limitations of Windows that ought to be addressed in a future version is the rather small size of the system resources pool (i.e., USER's data segment), relative to the amount of memory that Windows 3.0 can use. It's pretty silly that I can have 26Mb of memory free, and run out of resources because somebody is using a lot of child windows or controls. After all, windows are very versatile and we're always told that they're the right mechanism for almost every kind of display partition. Anyway, the protect mode version should be managing objects in a way that takes advantage of the improved memory management facilities. Robert P.
