[net.auto] 83 Olds Ciera Problem

 Richard, sounds like you have a problem with your Deceleration Valve.
 The Deceleration Valve Prevents backfiring in the exhaust system when
 the fuel mixture becomes richer, by allowing more air to bleed into
 the intake manifold. If the valve fails, an engine idles roughly and may
 backfire. Check your engine manual for its location, it should be just
 to the left of the distributor cap.
