We are investigating the possibility of writing a Postscript driver for an Autologic APS-PS PIP Typesetter. This typesetter is most respects "emulates" an Apple Laserwriter Plus and hence we can use drivers designed for it in most cases except for when we want to output pages larger than A4 such as A3, Tabloid, which the typesetter supports. Under Windows 2.1x we used the driver for the Digital Printer Server 40 or Linotronic 100/300/500 as these generally worked with few problems, but under Windows 3 none of the new drivers will work reliably. Does anyone have any information on patching an existing driver or how to go about writing a new driver for a Postscript driver? We have approached Autologic and Microsoft and both are stating that the other has to make the first move hence we are stuck in the middle with customers waiting. Any advice welcome.....
