I am about to purchase a SVGA adapter for my new 3D. It seems software compatibility is the main problem with available cards - some are not able to meet my demands in that respect. I was thinking maybe someone can help and suggest a suitable card. The card should be 16bit, capable of driving both monochrome, and CGA, through a standard DB9 connector, capable of driving EGA, VGA, SVGA (both fixed and multi-frequency) through a DB15. I will probably add SCSI controller some time in the future, so the BIOS must not conflict with known controllers. As for software, I intend to use it for CGA and Hercules emulations, as well as under Win 3.0, 1024x800. Also, being able to run FRACTINT to the full resolution and color is a highly desired. Window drivers to use the board at 800x600 and the above are also required. I had some experience with an no-name SVGA card, which is (probably) Orchid (something) - it uses the Tseng ET3000 chip. Also, there is some ET4000 based card (1MByte of memory).
