Has anyone on the network ever heard of a program to convert RTF (Rich Text Format, the document file format used by PC programs like Microsoft Word) to CDA format (Compound Document Architecture, the document file format used by DEC X-windows applications like DECwrite)? The two document formats have similar features, so it looks like it might be possible to convert (possibly with some loss of information). Someone I know (who doesn't have access to the net) has gotten some things in both formats that he'd like to merge somehow. Either direction would be desirable, though RTF -> CDA would be somewhat preferable. He'd rather not type it in again (it's a fairly good-sized collection of documents) and although he's hacked something together to do a first-level conversion, it isn't much better than just importing text (most of the formatting information gets lost). Either commercial or public domain would be OK, though he wouldn't want to spend enormous $$ for such a utility (at some point he can just pay his secretary to do the retyping, it's pretty much just a one-shot conversion). Thanks for any info - Bruce C. Wright
