Greetings unto the net! Earlier this summer, you might recall my asking about communications programs for Windows 3.0. The answers I got back (before the flame wars began on what was wrong with each piece of software) came basically to the following choices: 1) Terminal 2) WinQVT 4.36 3) Unicom 2.0 4) XTalk for Windows 5) Dynacomm (???) Well, because of my budget, 4 and 5 were right out. 1 wasn't near what I needed. That left 2 a nd 3, the two shareware packages. Like I said earlier, neither of these quite satisfied me. Well, to make a long story short, I ended up registering with Unicom, in the hopes that just maybe, it could be useful after getting it up to speed (D*mn 1200 baud). It hasn't, and I'm really sorry that I bought it, and I'm considering asking for my money back. <Whups, sorry, flame off. Got too into it there...> So, basically, the problem comes back down to being that there is (and will probably continue to be) a severe lack of shareware prgrams for Windows 3.0. My thought is, how hard would it be for a concerted effort by the net to develop a full fledged communications package (possibly somewhat in the vein of the program editor others are talking about, if I understand what they're doing... Never really did keep up with that thread...)? (I know it would be hard, but is anyone willing to offer their time and know-how to do this? (Remember, I'm strapped for money, and can't afford to get the Toolkit, MSC, etc...) So, what about it? Any volunteers? Anyone want to at least help get the ball rolling? Thanks for reading... JWKIII (Notice the new/old address... i.e., different from summer)
