Well I finaly broke down and decided to investigate Actor. I have been using sdk and C for 2.5 years now with a 30000 line application. I never could get codeview and win 386 to operate continuously...it would always crash and MS never could help. I then decided to use Zortech and win3.0. I have used C++ for 3 years but using zortech, and sdk and windows seems to be 'clunky'. Any way I got actor 8 days ago, read non-stop about 1.5 of the 2 manuals and I LIKE IT. I have gotten some pretty neat applications up fast and with a debugging environment that DOES NOT NEED TWO MONITORS. I think their philosophy about OO and GUI design is correct. We have used C and SDK for out Senior Level graphics students to do applications with but we may switch ... price is $99 for academics (instructors only?). I haven't determined how stable it is yet, I have only crashed it once. That isn't bad, I have crashed winword and pagemaker numerous times...not to mention the number of time codeview bombed. I am interested in anyone out there who may want to trade any neat class libs. Has anyone got the graphics libs? Are they any good? /*----------- Thanks in advance... --------------------------------------+ | Peter C.
