I have an AT 286 clone with 1meg of memeory and a 30 meg hard drive. It is running at 8mhz, which is slow but ok for what I do with the machine. I can only get windows to run in real mode. Shouldn't I be able to use standard mode also? I am running DOS 3.1. When I try to run standard mode, I get the Microsoft Windows 3 title screen and then the system hangs. I have to power down to reboot. My system starts up with the following: Enhanced Graphic Adapter Basic Time Inc. (c) Copyright 1986 Version 1.2 AT Bios V.105 Copyright Award Software, Inc. Any help in solving this mystory would be greatly appreciated. - Chris crm@icad.com
