[net.followup] Maybe you can be one of us!!!

Gee, Dave, you forgot net.jokes, net.ai, net.religion.* and a few other
newsgroups. See Frank Adrain for the Tek-approved broadcast technique.

It's too bad that one or two people can foster a very bad impression about
a company, but I'm beginning to equate Tek with irresponsible behaviour.

Would you lose points for getting agreed with by these individuals? (Would
anyone in their right mind admit to being agreed with by these guys?)

Tektronix is an international company with about 22,000 employees.
It is the largest private employer in the state of Oregon.
We are probably second only to AT&T to the number of machines
we have on the net. We probably have more individual posters to
the net than anyone else, save AT&T. To think two individuals
represent the corporate thinking of this company is a little
naive. As with most companies in this business we are made up
of a lot of highly motivated, highly individual and sometimes
highly vocal employees. We cover the political, religious and social
spectrum. Just because several individuals are abrasive and seem
to have inordinately high testosterone levels that they have
difficulty dealing with, is no reason to impinge the entire
organization. A statistical sample of two is not a very good
indicator as to the conduct of the other 21,998. There are
several other highly abrasive individuals on the net working
for much smaller companies. Perhaps they are more representative
of their organizations attitudes than are Dave and Frank of Teks.
