This question should probably be posted to comp.windows.ms.programmer but since it doesn't yet exist, here goes: I'm writing an application that can add new groups to the Program Manager. This can be done by adding new items to the Group key field in progman.ini with the WritePrivateProfileString() function. This stuff works fine and the progman.ini file is correctly modified. When the Program Manager is restarted the new groups show up on the desktop. The problem that I'm having is that I'd like to notify the Program Manager immediately of a change to the progman.ini file so that the desktop is updated without having to restart the Program Manager. I imagine that this can be done by sending a message to the progman.exe program, if it is running. However, what is the message that I should send and how do I get a handle to the Program Manager program? Thanks. -- David Macklem Nixdorf Computer Canada, Limited davidm@nixtor 1131a Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario uunet!mnetor!nixtor!davidm Canada M3C 3L8 (416-449-0035)
